[edit] Boy Scouts of America Adult Position Badges
Adult position badges, both cloth and metal, are considered insignia within Scout patch collecting.
Badges for adults were made for the uniforms that denoted the position held in Scouting. As uniform materials varied, some badges were made on corresponding material. These uniforms were typically dress uniforms or for certain locales. For example, the wool uniform made sense only in northerly climates. Thus, these badges tend to be considerably scarcer than the corresponding badge on standard twill. A video discussion with expert Paul Myers can be seen here[1] where he discusses the different cloth used in adult badges.

[edit] Collar Pins
For most of these positions there were corresponding collar pins or hat pins.
[edit] Position Identification
The following table presents the color combinations that determine the position for adult badges of office from 1921-1969.
These combinations are also reflected in the respective collar and lapel pins.
